Damage caused to homes in winter reaches £600 million

New research conducted by M&S Money has discovered that the number of insurance claims made for damage caused solely by adverse weather conditions has risen by more than 200 per cent.

The cost of damage to homes, as a consequence, now sits at £600 million per year, as the rising costs of energy and the lower temperatures means that homes which have their heating on less often are more susceptible to damage.
